The response is still totally unacceptable imo. Unity has no right to claim install fees, even if it’s “always the lesser amount”. No one should trust unity to stick to this. If there’s any other game devs here, look into Godot. It’s open source and controlled by a nonprofit foundation similar to Linux.

They’ve tarnished their reputation it’s going to be difficult to repair this

I wouldn’t trust unity if they were actually paying me to develop using their software. I would be too scared they’d fuck the contract and start paying me in bird shit.

Their CEO is insane and they’ve shown it’s time to move on.
