Agreed, sometimes it’s nice to just play an easy game and relax.
I like the idea of Fire Emblem, but wasn’t a big fan of Monastery area in Three Houses (my first FE), I believe it was just me being anxious about not properly handling relationships and missing out on good side characters. Plan to play Engage though, it looks like something I may enjoy.
It is possible that they have multiple internal teams which are working on different games in parallel, with each game in different phase of development.
I’ll see if I can find some interviews or details about how they develop games. Would be an interesting read.
Interesting. Didn’t know that. Thanks for the info!
No, $60 isn’t a small amount, and very few games are worth buying again (in my opinion).
Hehe, I just came across the one at the end of Chapter 1. It was fun.
I have been interested in SMT V, but am afraid of the difficulty, I am not very good at these games.
I can understand not wanting to pay again for a game, specially when they stop supporting it. There are some quality of life changes in Switch version though, if you need a reason to justify buying it again. Nothing wrong with playing on Wii U again, if you don’t care about those though.
Oooh, nice. I haven’t gotten time to play since the release date and am still at the first chapter. Other than the first conversation, haven’t had any conversation with multiple choices, IIRC. Are they just different ways to say something or do they effect anything?
Looking forward to playing more soon.
I actually went by the Japanese release schedule. Daybreak and Daybreak 2 released within year of each other. With trails game, I guess they can reuse assets from one game to next, at least within a series, so that should decrease the development time. Still, quite a feat in these times for a dev to release game each year.
Ah okay, got it.
Hopefully they will patch it soon.
We will know soon enough!
I still have so many Switch exclusives left to play, that even if launch lineup isn’t great, it’s still going to be day-1 for me.
Hehe, I try to only play one game (per platform) at a time, but I recently ended up starting 6-7 games. Taking a break from all of them now though.
Didn’t know Monkey Ball has a story, but the gameplay has always looked stressful to me, so never even tried to get it. Glad it clicked for you.
Couple of my friends have played it, and they are calling it a strong GOTY contender.
I played the original Cattails but couldn’t get into it. I liked the idea of the game, but for some reason couldn’t get into it. Don’t recall what the issue was.
That was a major pain point on the original WiiU version as people outside your party didn’t get any experience, making it much harder to swap team members an get affinity to unlock their storyline. Thankfully it looks like this was fixed in the Switch version.
Let’s hope so. I would be really annoyed if they didn’t get any experience.
As for Trails Through Daybreak 2, they seem to have annualized the series. This one was released just an year after the first game. They should probably start taking some time.
Strategy games, nice!
I played it very recently, without any history with the IP. Probably got it in some Humble Bundle or something, cause I don’t actually remember buying it.
Overall I enjoyed the game, agree with your summary about writing, graphics and combat, but it didn’t feel anything great. Good, but not great is my opinion. Personally, felt more like 7 or 7.5/10.
I am not a big Pokémon fan, and don’t care about playing all the games.
I have only played two yet, “Let’s Go Pikachu” and then “Sword”. Was looking forward to trying the next one they release, and to my untrained I, it looks pretty good (though I agree that super-evolve - or whatever - didn’t look that exciting), but I am skeptical of the performance. Wondering if I should skip this too, and the go for the first Switch 2 Pokémon they release? Will probably wait for the reviews and then decide.
And yeah, don’t know what they mean for Legends tag now. It has legends name, but it looks similar to normal Pokémon. Arceus looked very different.
lol, I don’t believe they did that! That was awesome!
