Found this delight on Rightmove today!

Elegance personified…

Coco Chanel would have loved to see her logo on a toilet lid

I think there’s a fridge freezer in the bedroom???

I don’t know what this thing is

Depends on how much land comes with the house. I would renovate the hell out of the house though. But if the framework is in decent shape and it’s in a good location it could be made to look very nice.

Rip out the horrible interior, extend, it could look really nice!

In it’s current state though, it’s just bizarre. It’s like an ‘upmarket’ house in the countryside for sex parties… Maybe the weird hand wash basin in the kitchen is for rinsing your dick in?

I think that’s either for fresh fruit or if it’s near a door it’s for holding your keys

Edit: nevermind. It’s definitely a weird sink

Imagine how many things you’d lose in that house with all that cabinet space. “Now which cabinet did I put my winter clothes in? One of the 40 around my bed? One of the other 40 around the other bed?”

“Do you like storage? Well here we have storage above your bed, and storage around your bed, and storage and a fridge beside your bed. Think about all the stuff you can store!”

The last photo is a “fancy” sink. Usually done to put lipstick on a flip, but here I think it’s just bad taste

Especially since that’s in a kitchen island. You put that crap in guest bathrooms where the only thing it’s ever used for is washing your hands. Not for meal prep.

I’m familiar with this. It’s Greek diaspora architecture. You can tell from the everything about it.

There was a greek-australian comedian who was standing in front of the parthenon and said something like, “You can tell this house is greek cause of all the pillars”.

How is this not the entire topic of discussion.

We put a bed with too many cabinets at this end of the room, now what to put at the other end. I know! A toilet. Right there in the center facing the bed to help maintain eye contact!

I assumed it was for some sort of medical care, The picture with the fridges has what looks like a monitor on an arm to the right. It reminded me of something you’d see attached to an EKG or heart monitor something. I bet the fridges had medicine in them at one point.

People build out nice medical rooms in their homes if they/their family needs consistent medical care and they have money, that’s probably what happened.

That or it’s weird sex stuff.

It’s definitely a medical room like the other commentor said. Most likely for somebody with long term limited mobility. Everything they need within 5 minutes of slow moving. I’ve had relatives who would have lived in rooms like this if they could have.

Being 2 hours from the closest city is worse than anything about the property itself.

That thing you couldn’t identify is a sink.

I don’t care for the style, but I’ve seen lots of people that like this kind of thing in the states. The large property reminds me of much of the rural southeastern USA. It looks like someone that wanted a higher class of living than they achieved. The behavior manifests a lot more in car culture or clothing, at least more visibly. This kind of spending is what really drives the economy. If you find advertising and marketing to be adolescent nonsense, you’re not the target audience. But there is a target audience getting the message and driving the cycle, even for a toilet seat, or cartoon flying contraptions for the back of the most pedestrian of front wheel drive cars, or seafoam green surrounded stones marketed to people as the very meaning of love. Gullible people willingly to overvalue nonsense drive the world.

      They’re over 70.

No need for a proper sink in the kitchen as they exist on Wiltshire Farm Foods 👍

Seems a bit like a traveler’s (Roma/Sinti) idea of heaven. Gaudy interiors, much more space than a mobile home and plenty of tarmac for family to come over and stay.

I think that last thing is a sink. In fact, it appears to be the only sink in the kitchen, picture trying to use that thing to wash some crud off a pan or something.

Definitely a sink, I saw one exactly like that in a restaurant bathroom. 10/10, absolutely terrible choice for a kitchen.

      Well that’s worse than useless…

I’m fully convinced it’s a house for sex parties. Glossy wipe down surfaces for added hygiene, plus the plastic covers on the seats and table, a pointless sink to rinse your dick in, the weird bedroom/toilet/utility room. It’s high up on a hill so there’s the potential for some al fresco fucking, a marque out front…I’ve clearly been thinking a lot about this

edit- I forgot about the glass gimp box under the stairs…

      Yep, at 4.5 acres that’ll become a nice cul-de-sac of 10 houses.

Shame the drive’s in such a bad state… cheap tarmac…

Damn, I could start my own farm with 4.5 acres. Or build a motocross track. Or a full on rifle range. Or get horses! Not that I could afford horses, but I’d have the space.

Flip around especially on Scottish houses on Rightmove. This one is worse than average, but not by a lot. This weird combination of 70s styling alongside tacky modern is quite common.

I’m looking to retire to Scotland one day so I’ve seen a bunch.

Scotland does have it’s share of horrible decor, I do quite like the over abundance of tartan soft furnishings though…I’ve seen some that must be like living in one of those ‘magic eye’ pictures, must be fun if you have epilepsy…
