I understand but there’s only so many contributing members of the larger multi user communities. They are touching the poop and therefore their opinions about anything else don’t matter to me. I can block all the users I see in communities I now can’t block as a whole. I’d rather just kill the hydra but if I need to I’ll cut each head off myself.

Not being able to block communities after being banned seems like a poor decision was made during the development of this site.

I complained about slop in the other thread and got banned from at least two, hopefully more. Only found out when I went to block a couple of communities someone linked.

I think I would be willing to pay for a lemmy experience that replaces ai slop posts with ads. Ads with autoplaying videos and sound. Ads that when accidentally clicked open the app store to some obvious malware. Anything that doesn’t kill one rainforest tree per post.

I have been banned from at least two slop communities for that reply. The moron in charge really got me. I can’t contribute nothing to society now.

I immediately block any community built on slop. I would be elated if they did the work for me.

I do CNC lathe. I could run it with the door open but don’t due to coolant. It shouldn’t run with the door open but it does run like that. Safety interlock is long gone. I roll my sleeves back on my flannel jacket and button the cuffs. I sweat a lot and the breeze that brings me fresher air makes me get cold easily.

I have seen the Tool Time episode where Tim The Toolman Taylor has his shirt ripped off by a lathe and am very aware of the danger every day. The green button doesn’t get pushed until doors are closed.

As a machinist I will tell you that it’s the pieces you can see stuck in your skin with your eyes that are the real problem. Those usually hurt a lot more. Machine shops are filthy and it’s up to you to wear glasses and gloves and wash up with soap containing pumice.

A bigger concern to me is the cloud of coolant steam containing lord knows what billowing out of a lathe. I’ve started wearing a winter coat and hat during work with a fan blasting right at the door to keep the air I breathe clean.

Anyways neat picture. Judging by the tiny chips it looks like the mill is to blame. Makes me glad I run mostly lathe these days. I had something like that in my elbow for a few months. It was about one centimeter long and hurt like hell when pressure was on it.

If you want to run machines the first tool you should buy yourself is good tweezers. I have 6 different pairs of tweezers. You can borrow workshop tools but should stay sanitary and have your own tweezers.

I haven’t played with a switch very much but I think the joysticks are worse than what they made for GameCube. I am under the impression that switch has what amounts to a directional pad underneath a joystick. Like that Gameboy peripheral with the lights, magnifier, and joystick that clips over the D pad. The joystick is there on the switch but output is only an analog 8 directions.

Pardon me if I’m wrong here but what I see with Nintendo is them making bad hardware. I know it’s made for kids but even they deserve better. The switch version of any big AAA game that got a switch port is generally really really dumbed down and looks and runs like garbage. I can’t wait to hear about Cyberpunk 2077 looking and running like garbage again. 5 years after it came out.

I would like to change the radio station in a school zone and not run over a bunch of kids because I had to take my eyes off the road. Touchscreens are more distracting to use than my phone, which I don’t like to use while driving because it is distracting enough.

Touchscreens absolutely do not belong in cars and I hope my car with buttons doesn’t fucking die before the trend dies.
