I think that would be against the terms of the policy for the types of insurance you can get here in Sweden, so basically another level of fraud. But yeah, that makes sense, you could double/triple-dip and get ahead that way.
I guess you’d still have a scratched car at that point, though. Maybe you need to combine it with a dishonest repair shop massively inflating the bill, along with an insurance company that doesn’t pay enough attention.
I’m struggling to see how this scam is actually supposed to work - if your car sustains damage, wouldn’t your insurance just cover the cost to repair that damage, meaning you are just back at square one?
Barring societal collapse I believe I will be able to retire, but that’s only because I’ve gotten extraordinarily lucky in life.
As mentioned in the video, these are pretty hostile to pedestrians. Without knowing too much about the subject, I wouldn’t be surprised if roundabouts beat them handily - why else would countries with better road safety opt for roundabouts over diverging diamonds?
It’s also when using a blocked word on lemmy.ml, but will only show as such for users of that instance.
The r-word is on that list, and I believe the b-word might be as well.
Return without a deal? I’m not sure that’s going to be good for the union long-term.
Porn isn’t going anywhere. LoL
Give Project 2025 a read. Wild things in there.
Gay marriage? It’s already dangerous to just come out, let alone get married.
Thanks to who?
And contraception? They’ren already losing that one too in many states thanks to local governments anyway.
Literally a direct cause of the last Trump administration.
Note that this is monthly, not yearly as is usually reported for other countries. Argentinian inflation is not the same beast we’re dealing with in most of the rest of the world. The yearly number is closer to 200% as reported by the article.
High time to rebrand the self-proclaimed “pro-life” movement as what they in reality are: anti-life
The absolute state of the U.S. A thousand years of shame would not be enough
It’s actually not legal in Utah! The Mormon church yielded after a lot of pressure regarding the practice and Utah then made it illegal.
For sure, this is a hard lesson learned for me - it doesn’t matter if you’re doing good work if no one knows about it, so if you want to be rewarded for your work you’ll have to spend less time actually doing it and more time doing marketing for what you’ve done.
Some forward thinking - which we all know is most definitely not a thing when it comes to suburban development patterns - would see these installed from the beginning to ultimately save money long term on maintenance and upgrades.
Since the suburbs are an unsustainable Ponzi scheme designed to cram as much money out as possible though, they will go for the cheapest up-front option, total lifetime cost be damned.
Here’s a zero-cost plan to migrate the road network over to metric: have a transition period where signs may be shown in either unit, then require all replacement signs to be shown as metric. Since all signs must eventually be replaced, over a long enough period of time the whole network will become metric without any marginal cost increase.
The only downside is that for a time, people have to understand both units and how they relate to each other.
