I like the idea of one bar across the middle that you need to perfectly balance the car on in order to lift it. Makes it exciting.

World News@lemmy.world•After Blocking Fuel, the US Turns to Cuba’s Food SupplyEnglish
131·1 day agoI think the US is just bitter. They had a thing going there; Castro ended it. Cuban government took US assets. Cuban government would later partner with the soviets, including the whole nuke thing.
I was really hopeful the Obama policies would turn Cuba into just another Caribbean island, but here we are. I don’t know much.
Edit: So in short, they’re really close to the US and not aligned with the US politically, which is a problem. And you might say the same about Canada or Mexico but it’s on a completely different scale.

1·2 days agoYeah, it’s disturbing to think it might come to that. Any violent reaction from Greenland would be playing into their hands. Whatever they do needs to be broadcast for the world to see.
What about when component rolled around. Totally fucked with my young mind, red blue green instead of red white yellow. And my old man had the nice cables too, which made it really feel like I was fucking some shit up.

But the test was a major catalyst would eventually spell doom for commercial supersonic journeys over the United States.
Now, some 50 years on from the ban, a new era of supersonic flight seems within reach. The FAA in June for reimagined rules on supersonic flight.

Anytime I get my kids a snack or a bowl of cereal to cap off the night, I almost certainly take the dad tax (which in and of itself is a joke), but generally tell them that I checked and it was not poison.
I also hide and scare everyone in my family, but that one is just for me. Sometimes I say boo without hiding, and that’s for them.

121·2 days agoThere’s still some decent games, but you gotta really sift through shit. I only know because of my kids. I don’t have an issue with them playing. I don’t let them friend anyone (they don’t know in real life), chat is dead, and when they play dumb games, they eventually come to the “this is dumb” conclusion, and I treat it like a learning experience.

They’re all delicious. It’s a problem how delicious they are.
That being said, the colors will be more muted soon enough. I’ve always had a soft spot for cereal, and certain cereals have already taken the plunge into muted color town.
This show was really well done. I wish it went in a slightly different direction, but I enjoyed it. It was a very unique take on the sitcom.

I’m at work, I’m at the beach, I’m on a hike, I’m doing whatever, I’ll watch it later. Boom, six hours. It’s a meaningless window of time, but there’s articles being written about it.
Speed limits, at least on state and federal roads, are often governed by a set of rules that basically look at sight distances, entrances to the roadway, and some other factors. So there are rules to them. I think the highway speed limits are generally fine.
Putting all that aside, entitlement is absolutely a thing, and this post does a good job of nailing it. There’s a speed limit. If you go over it, you are taking a risk. If you get pulled over for 70 in a 65 and you bitch about it, you’re an entitled idiot. I say this as someone who exceeds the speed limit, it’s just how things operate over her. But if I get tagged for doing so, I will eat it, because I was knowingly breaking the law. Now, if it were more regularly enforced, I might not do it, but it seems to be that 20% above the posted limit is acceptable, and so that’s how I operate (except I do 25 in residential areas because there is no reason to speed on streets people are walking and kids are riding bikes).

Like, it saves me exactly zero time if I have to go back and check its work, because that’s what I would’ve been doing anyway! And now, instead of my mistakes, which I’m very familiar with, I have the hallucinations of some machine to contend with.
