With the recent news about Authy blocking access for GrapheneOS, I’m looking for ways to export my 2FA before it locks me out. From what I can tell, the previous methods of using the Desktop app no longer work.

    You can actually get an encrypted copy of your tokens form authy using a GDPR claim. I did it earlier this year. They took a while since it appears that it was the first time they did that.

    I haven’t actually managed to decrypt them yet, but that’s mainly because I’m lazy.

    But honestly they are not wrong. You probably shouldn’t reuse 2FA tokens. For security the old ones should be revoked and new ones should be issued.

      Your last point is fair. In general I’d agree if it weren’t for them actively blocking people from using their service without proper warning or migration path. I have several dozen tokens stored and having to update each one is going to be quite time-consuming. 😅
