Gmail Smart Features have existed for many years

    True statement

…and we do not use your Gmail content for training our Gemini AI model.”

Also a true statement. They are training an AI not named Gemini.

Fuck they’re so evil. I fully believe the next (unsaid) sentence could be “We are training Gemini3”

Yeah as much as people are skeptical of google, malware bytes updated their original reporting to say they were mistaken

Google can still go fuck themselves but this seems like it was a false alarm

IMO if the contents of the emails are available to the model then it’s being sent to and logged in the Gemini servers, whether it’s used by the model’s predictions and tested against for accuracy is sort of besides the point. Would not surprise me if Jenny was lying about the contents being used, if AI can generate emails then it had to have a sample set.

Only the search indexer reads your emails. The ai trains from what the search indexer finds. Duh.
