    How fast can you pull an interesting battlemap and an interesting encounter ?

    Because I had DMs making me wait while they cobbled something last minute that we couldnt avoid, meaning they could have planned it in advance with 0 chances of wasting the preps

      Honestly that hasn’t become much of a problem yet. When I know there’s going to be combat I’m pretty good at prepping in advance but the rp and other stuff I tend to just make up on the fly.

      It’s also how I ended up with two NPCs named Phil…

      Oh easy, just draw what the players see and let them discover the rest as they go.

      Then throw the right player a trigger line and you have half an hour to draw the next 5 lines.

      Like, 30 seconds? Throw a dhohanoid into a big cave with a barrier that causes fear. Have a group of shovelheads encroach on the party’s territory.
