3 already lowkey happened with BLM and then blaming immigration in order to beef up the police and “law and order”. But I have a feeling it’s going to happen again in a second stronger wave.
You should also check out what they’re doing to protesters, students, and teachers who protest against genocide.
This is why active physical protests are being discouraged. It’s playing into their hand and won’t accomplish what we want.
We have to play smarter because even if we are perfectly good and peaceful and somehow right wing jackoffs aren’t sneaking in to stir the pot? The media will frame it as a barely contained pot about to boil over.
They will do it whether we protest or not.
In time, yes. They will manufacture a reason for their crackdowns.
However that does not mean we should hand them that excuse. The longer it takes for them, the more time we have to try getting out of this mess, or at least longer for other countries to see what’s going on.

Don’t worry, Democrats have already announced a plan: seek to secure the vote of moderate Republicans in the 2026 midterms.
Because it worked so well in 2024, 2020, 2016, 2012, etc.
Dems will nominate Ted Cruz as their candidate in 2028 to appeal to non-MAGA Republicans. Centrist dems will then demand everyone support him because, in theory, he’ll be a little bit better than Trump, who is running for his third term. Remember, as a voter, the only criteria you’re allowed to use is whether the Dem candidate is slightly better than the Republican one. If you’re a Democrat, it is your moral duty to vote for Ted Cruz in 2028. If you don’t, you’re morally responsible for anything Trump does in his third term.
And this is why we need to replace corporate and centrist Dems with actual leftists - there’s like 3 in the whole party.
A protest vote in the presidential is ineffectual, but replacing the party with people who will actually do something will lead to them fielding actually competent candidates.
So we go for the media first 😈

We’ve identified “illegal immigrants” as the enemies of the state, are shipping them off to essentially black-site prisons, and are threatening/attempting to annex Canada, Mexico, Panama, and Greenland. The argument for Greenland is to protect our borders.

Number 3 is the one I’m most worried about. There will be riots soon as the populace is close to the breaking point on things and that’s going to be the only excuse they need.
1,2, and 4 will lead to 3, which will then lead to 5.
I see the war on trans people as #3. Even before the rise of the Trump regime, every time there’s a school shooter, the right already immediately started spreading lies about the attacker being trans. Now the open persecution has begun. When you try to erase a group from the law, target their basic ID documents, their healthcare, their very existence? The Trump regime has declared war on the trans population.
You can only push people so far before some of them start building bombs. You can only take so many innocent lives before the reprisal killings start. And I think that’s the goal here, beyond just outright bigotry. Spread lies about a group being prone to acts of violence. Start persecuting that group using every lever of power available. When some members of that group inevitably respond with violence, the broader populace will already be primed to accept that the group is prone to irrational violence. You can then use that as justification for even more draconian acts of repression.

I contend that there isn’t anyone who doesn’t already know this/see this. It’s that the people who cheer on Trump know damn well it’s happening and literally don’t care.
It’s not that they’re not aware of the rise of fascism, it’s that they agree with it. They are the same people who say “Well…the nazis had the trains running on time…etc…etc…”
(Which by the way is a complete falsehood. The so-called expert organisation and planning and detail oriented myth of the nazi state was exactly that…a myth.)
The list above is not something that they didn’t realise they were voting for. It’s something that they actively voted for.

I take your point, but just today at work I had someone tell me how their family had fled to come to the US due to political violence in the past. I kinda vaguely was like “yeah, it’s pretty scary to think about how similar things are looking right now” and his response was, “I’m just countingon the idea that politicians don’t do what they say.”
Well, we were already deeper into politics than I like to get at work, but I wanted to scream HE’S ALREADY DOING IT!
I just nodded and smiled as I walked away.

Nazi is often written in all caps, I suspect under the mistaken impression that it’s an acronym.
The official title of the party was actually the NSDAP (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei ). Nazi was a colloquialism, short for Nationalsozialisten.
The modern version is Nat-C or “Nationalist Christian”
It’s in title case, except for the word “Nazi” which is in full caps presmably for emphasis
