To be fair, I read Japanese and not Chinese, but the character on the Chinese re-enactor’s chest appears to just say “man”.
Edit: I missed that there’s a bit above the character for man, so I don’t know exactly what it says.

I think it’s ‘courage’ 勇 but the same caveat that I speak japanese and searched in japanese. I searched exactly be cause I thought it couldn’t just be ‘man’ heh
They all look so cool and like they are having a great time in their armor. Love that for them.
