    IDF soldiers are beheading children by the dozen and we’re supposed to care that a soldier - who presumably knew what he was getting into - was killed in a slightly unusual but likely more humane way than dying slowly of an infected shrapnel wound?

      Yes. We should care. Russia is the aggressor here. They deserve to at least be condemned.

      I’m not saying Ukraine is perfect and I’m sure my world view is altered by propaganda in some way, but at its base, Russia invaded Ukraine and if Russia is committing war crimes, they should not be supported.

      If Russia had never invaded, that soldier could instead be at home with family or friends, alive.

          Yes. I’m aware that this conflict is technically over a decade long and there’s huge amounts of propaganda from both sides trying to portray themselves and the hero/victim.

          I am certainly always open to learning more than I have access to though.

      It’s because worse is happening elsewhere that we should not be concerned by such news.
