Ohhh yeah. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that before.
Just your age ol’ ex-Reddit lurker… who also likes nuggets :)
Ohhh yeah. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that before.
There are some pundits I’d like to fire into the sun…
Admittedly I dont watch womens football that much. Was that a freekick inside the box? Also, is that specific to the womens game?
I have never seen that before
Same, lol
Thought it was going in…
Exactly that. We’ve seen much worse punished for much less and, as you pointed out, there was no malice, he was challenging for the ball, which he won.
How many times have players ploughed into Saka and nothing gets given? People talk about how Arsenal are soft and then complain when they put in a good hard tackle, which is what people like… they want to eat their cake and have it too.
You might be right about Bentancur. I’m probably getting mixed up with Romero not tracking Big Gabby.
Ahh, you’re probably right
It seems great regardless and should cut down on a lot of the manual work you do.
Maybe we can politely request ESPN to keep track of the WSL :)
It’s like the “push” on Romero for the goal. If the goal was disallowed for that it would have been farcical.
I could be wrong in my assessment, this is just based off of the replay they showed during the live coverage, but Timber doesn’t intentionally step on Porro’s ankle/foot. He steps on the ball and the momentum of his movement and the ball causes his foot to roll off and down onto Porro.
I don’t remember correctly, but the contact doesn’t look as bad as it maybe did live. Not to mention that for all of Porro’s rolly-pollys, the club physios never came on to look at it (maybe they just don’t care xD), he then played on to finish the full 95mins and, if I remember correctly, made some dangerous runs into the box with ease.
If he had to be substituted off, that’s one thing. But he didn’t and played the rest of the match unaffected.
So it now just looks like a bunch of theatrics to have an Arsenal player sent off who was already on a yellow.
I agree. I think that’s why I wanted to give him a slightly higher rating. He was coming into a game with very few minutes played, was pressing like he was 25 at 32. It was like he’d been playing week in week out.
It wasn’t on the same level as say maybe Big Gabby or Saka, but he stood up when we really needed him and did his part in attack and defence.
Yeah, I kinda wanted to change some of my ratings afterwards. I think Jorginho did better than what I gave him as well
That does look good…
Yep, found a screencap of it xD
Raya and Timber were good shouts fpr MotM, but big Gabby was immense. The goal sealed ot, I think
I agree. I just don’t see them being hit as hard as we want them to
I was nervous before the game started. After that, I wasn’t feeling nervous until maybe the final 15 minutes (including extra time). I was semi-confident when the subs came on too since I felt fresh legs could have made an impact and they almost nearly did.
I mean, he could have told the club doctors he wasn’t feeling well and sit on the bench or not be in the squad at all. He was probably itching to play.
Definitely sounds like, because he played a part in conceding the goal, he’s using a fever as an excuse to justify playing poorly.
Is that because of he picked a different country or a rivalry between China and HK, or both?
Øde would just want to play. I guess we could have requested that he play x amount of minutes instead of telling him he can’t go. All he probably wants to do is play and represent his team the best he cam as captain.
Agreed. I have disliked International breaks for years.
However, to play devils advocate, I was listening to the Arsecast podcast the other day and they mentioned there’s a lot of scrutiny on Øde to do well and the Norwegian national team have struggled. Not to mention he is also the captain.
So, I agree in that he probably feels he has a duty to play and not doing so could leave a black mark on him. Ryan Giggs was used as an example of how he wouød always skip international duty for whatever reason. Due to his absences, he was critiqued about his commitment to the Welsh team.
I don’t feel I’ve been very articulate, but I’m sleepy 😅
Ahh yep! Cheers for that :)
I just saw them taking a freekick and was confused. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it before
