But you did make a choice, and often, people without kids are viewed as the solution rather than pushing back against the system that forces you to need that solution. Pretty sure hospitals keep some alcohol on hand in case a severe alcoholic is going through withdrawals as that can be deadly. They don’t keep cigarettes on hand. Unsure about other hard drugs. If a parent decided to quit parenting we call that abandonment or child abuse and put them in jail. These are not the same.
