  • I watched the China Ministry of Foreign Affairs press conference this morning. Two news agencies (Japanese NHK and French AFP) asked questions related to “Tienanmen Square Incident”. I thought the response from the FM on the questions was pretty good. Then I looked at the MFA website, and the questions had been omitted from the press conference transcript. I’m honestly kind of confused why China omitted the questions from the record. I’ve never noticed them do this before.

English audio comes out of the right speaker. Chinese audio comes out of the left speaker.

At 21m10s, NHK asks China why they have not compensated families of the victims of “Tienanmen Square Incident”. The FM responds by saying that the people of China have chosen the path of Socialism with Chinese characteristics.

At 23m40s, AFP asks China to respond to Marco Rubio’s recent social media posts about “Tienanmen Square Incident”. The FM says that Marco Rubio is distorting facts for a political attack against China.

In the transcript below, these parts of the conference have been omitted. I’m not sure why.

  • You’re posting in a thread about a US politician blaming US media for attacks on US supporters of Israel, for US media correctly reporting that Israel is doing a genocide in Gaza. How does your comment relate to pro-Israel protests in the US? The “bring home the hostages” statements within the US are not anti-war; people who say “bring home the hostages” want Israel to annex Gaza.

Secondly, I have been following news about protests happening in Israel. Anarchism in Israel is a small fringe movement, which does not make up “most of these protests”. The only protest that I have slight sympathy for in Israel is Mesarvot, because it’s teenagers who are being jailed for refusing to serve in the IOF and even then it’s like maybe a dozen members.

The “bring home the hostages” protests in Israel are not anti-Zionist. Some of them have been described as “anti-war” or “anti-Netanyahu”, but never “anti-Zionist”. Anti-Netanyahu is a crafted designation which seeks to place all blame on Netanyahu to wash Zionism of its crimes against Palestinians. Anti-Netanyahu protests in Israel are not anti-Zionism. It’s exactly like when a corporation does a bunch of bad stuff and then they just replace the CEO to take all of the blame.

There’s maybe like a total of 50 Israelis in all of Israel Occupied Territory who would describe themselves as “anti-Zionist”. Anti-Zionism is not a movement that exists within Israel.

  • Statement From Senior Hamas Official Dr. Bassem Naim:

Engineering Extermination through “Humanitarian” Death Traps

In the context of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, the new Israeli mechanism for distributing humanitarian aid serves to intensify policies of starvation and societal targeting, transforming aid into death traps.

Reports indicate that this mechanism—administered through the U.S.-backed “Gaza Relief Organization”—forces civilians to move toward dangerous military zones in order to access aid, thereby placing their lives at grave risk.

This policy has led to the martyrdom of no fewer than 75 Palestinian civilians over the past week while attempting to reach aid distribution points, including 27 martyrs in Rafah on June 3 and 31 martyrs in a similar incident on June 1, in addition to dozens of injuries. (Different investigation and eye witnesses have proven that the shooting against the innocent civilians is without any doubt from the Israeli side)

This mechanism is deemed an instrument of “genocide engineering” and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, whereby aid is being used as a means to facilitate ethnic cleansing. It also grants Israel a role in the distribution process, thereby undermining the neutrality of humanitarian operations. The United Nations has rejected this plan, affirming that it contravenes fundamental humanitarian principles and endangers the lives of civilians and humanitarian workers.

We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and for the lives of all Palestinians killed at distribution centers. We call upon the international community to act immediately to halt these criminal policies and to ensure the safe and impartial delivery of humanitarian aid under United Nations supervision, free from any military or political interference.

  • I think it’s revealing when the organizers said their event is not a protest. A protest is a political demonstration where the attendees shows disapproval of an entity which has power. Zionists have the full backing of the US government. Zionists are happy about the actions of the US government. Zionists are happy about the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Protests demonstrate for oppressed people, a demonstration for the oppressor is not a protest at all.

By admitting that their political action is not a protest, the participants admit that they support the genocide in Gaza and they admit that they are not being oppressed. They’re not protesting, they’re gloating.

  • The woman in the video published an article alongside the video. In the article, it says she obtained from Daily NK. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c98pnx35xj2o

DailyNK is a anti-DPRK and anti-communism news website. DailyNK has received funding from National Endowment for Democracy (NED) ie US government funding.

DailyNK published a technical specification breakdown of the phone in the video in February 2025. The article says that they recently obtained the phone. They say this phone is called “Samtaesung 8”. You will notice in the BBC video that there is also an 8 on the phone wallpaper. The article doesn’t mention the autocorrect feature or the screenshot surveillance.

    https://www.dailynk.com/english/north-korea-smartphone-samtaesung-8-revealed/

    https://archive.is/mNon0

DailyNK published an article about the screenshot functionality of the Samtaesung 8 phone in April 2025. This article contradicts the BBC video. This article says that DPRK cellphones only recently gained screenshot functionality and the phone blocks screenshotting when the News app is open (maybe copyright protection?). The BBC video said that the phones had no access to internet but if it has a News app, then it has some form of internet. The screenshot list on the BBC video also doesn’t make sense, the timestamps are inconsistent and the file names are illogical.

    https://www.dailynk.com/english/n-korean-smartphones-add-screenshot-function-with-notable-exceptions/

    https://archive.is/mTlmw

The BBC video seems to be just straight up lying. I have skepticism for the information provided by DailyNK, but they at least show screenshots of the technical information about the phone.

Edit /// The Korean name for the phone is 삼태성8 . You get a lot more search results when searching for the Korean name. There is also a newer model Samtaesung 9 or 삼태성9 . There are some videos on youtube in Korean.

  • I looked through his tweets some more. He had a bluesky account which is now banned.
