  • Very much the same. I have specific interests too and dont live in an area around people who share them (moral and hobbies).

Its just hard to find folks to hang out with. They either have families, only want to hang out at bars, or are obsessed with staring at tik Tok on their phones and talking about right wing conspiracies.

The good part is I also enjoy just being by myself most of the time. I’m really good at not being bored.

  • Yep very true !

This is probably the most prolific constant battering of propaganda though since “cloud” or even the dot com boom. (Side note, funny how every advancement in tech is just “someone else’s computer”. they really hate that we own anything). Its very tiring knowing most humans will fall for it completely while we fight to preserve what’s left of the internet and human creativity. It will all fall to slop in a decade though, then I’ll just get rid of using the internet for anything except work and email, ha.

    1. they want you thinking this way so you give up and succumb to the altman overlords and pay a subscription for knowledge. Fuck that. Its not ai. Its llm slop, and its hyped up bullshit. We are old enough to know bs hype when we see it. Its unsustainable. Will it stick around, unfortunately yes but in a far smaller capacity.

    2. Go do things away from tech. Stop reading the news. It will help you. The world is not “ai” (again, ai doesn’t exist, its a marketing term). The world is humans and community and how you process it.

    3. I agree. Theres no point to life. So do what you want and can do (legally or morally), and fuck the rest.

  • Nah. I was at first then realized its a HUGEEE marketing hype train with billions behind it and that is why it proliferated. If it didnt have that no one would give a fuck. It doesn’t do anything we havent had tools to do for 20 years. It made some things a little easier for dumb people.

Read up some Ed Ziteron to clear your head. They (the altmans of the world) want you to think this way and give up so you stop learning, atrophy your brain, and pay a knowledge subscription to use their inaccurate summarizing bot. Thats the end goal, a grift, as usual, and why right wing fascists love it so much.

    Really nothing has changed.

  • Yep at one point I realized, hey, theres no rules except those I put on myself, and limits imposed by my environment.

If I want to go out and play in the mud I can. If I want to stay up and watch movies I can. If I wanna go for a drive to nowhere after work I can. If I want to read more than 1 book at once, I can!

Its actually really great when i think about it. So many others have self imposed limits (“thats kid stuff, I’m too old, its embarrassing” etc) when they could do so much more.

    To OP:

20s aren’t that great because usually, your friends are dumb, or you’re dumb, and probably dont have much money. And if youre in school you have that to worry about all the time.

Also, we are all children in adult bodies. People act grown up but its all for show. No one knows what they’re doing and are just as scared as you.

Just keep in shape and eat somewhat healthy in your 20s at least. Even 15 or 30 minutes of workouts a few times a week will save you a lot of pain! This said from someone who “made fun” of gyms and health nuts my whole life. Still do. Or find an activity to get you moving, lije biking or climbing.

  • My biggest issue is finding friends with no kids! All my earlier friends are off doing their own stuff and don’t care about me anymore. Which is fine, I’m good at being alone. I just want pals to hang out with.

Not to mention a non existent family due to maga brainwash.
