I can’t believe how all these (apparently) politically literate people (I think predominantly they’re Yanks) throw around these words: fascist, Tankies, liberal, libertarian, conservative etc with little precision. It’s a pity as all it does is stifle interactions - and no one will find common ground. Good way to keep the serfs under the cosh if they’re all bickering amongst themselves.
I was not aware of that - I assumed the terminology arose purely from the 1789 French National Assembly’s seating arrangement and had no precedent. I’ll dig into Wikipedia in a bit.

May I suggest just ignoring things (words, NOT actions) you don’t agree with? I don’t go to churches / temples / mosques / synagogues etc to yell at believers. I don’t post hunting photos in vegan and veterinarian subs. It takes two to tango.
In my personal experience I see much less “debatability” coming from (some) .world accounts - but I understand user experience varies massively from person to person.

.ml is treated as a bit of a bogeyman around here - most of my interactions with their instance and users has been good. I realise this could be different for others. But, yes, they are Marxist-Leninist so, obviously, their opinions and content will be closely aligned with their political philosophy. In my personal opinion and experience .world seems to have vacuumed-up a tremendous amount of people from the other site you mentioned (Robbit?). Their netiquette seems to have not changed. Also, myself and some others have noticed that on .world it’s not unusual to see comments that express views from outside what the majority believe get deleted. Fortunately the “mod logs” are public record so you can see why comments were deleted, whom by and what the original post/comment was. (I guess with the exception of illegal content that has to be scrubbed) I hope you enjoy your time here. Welcome.

That’s certainly one opinion - which you’re more than entitled to hold. Personally I don’t get the connotations that you do. I see it as a subversion of Musk’s overt sycophancy vis a vis Trump’s (completely unwarranted) strong man persona clothed in a parody of a TradCon nuclear family.
