If you really need an explanation why this is funny: Brexit was about how unfair and nasty the EU was being towards GB. And now they realised that, oh wait, actually, there were quite a few benefits, can we please have those back? And we’ll even make do without the special treatment, like we got while we were in the EU!

That’s a bit funny to me, if I’m being brutally honest.

To be clear: I’d be all for the UK rejoining the EU (you can even keep your currency, my treat). Would be better for both sides. I’m not laughing at the British people, I’m laughing at the political class.

It needs to be permissible to entertain the thought that a person who was attacked just happened to be LGBTQIA+ and the attack had other motives, especially if there are reasons to assume other motives. I’d rather live in a country where the police are bound by the law to not jump to conclusions because of what seems obvious at first glance.

Silly me, I was under the impression that the purpose of the “vending machine test” was to test whether an AI could autonomously run a vending machine (something that would make sense from an economic standpoint), not whether it could “figure out” it was in a simulation.

This depends heavily on where you live. Where I am, while it’s not a crime or anything to not have it with you, you are required to HAVE one and it isn’t worth the tedious hassle it’ll cause if you’re required to show it (unless you actively plan to antagonise the police which is valid).
