I’m an animation student and have realized at some point in my life, that this planet cannot be saved without moving to a class-less, state-less and money-less society. I consider myself a Marxist.
I’m not american and neither do I know much about these parties at all, but my guess would have been, that while they may not be perfect, they’re still the best options for communist parties? I may be mistaken, since I know so little. Like, would the PSL be a better alternative? If they are, maybe they’re not active in his part of the US? Maybe CPUSA is the most accessible?
These are all speculations tho. I’m looking forward to other more educated insights xD.
My mom has one in her car o.O She always only said it was for luck, but I’d also like to know more. The sound they make is pretty pleasant, I think.
Doesn’t Cuba hold elections every 2 years or so? Even though they’re a one party state, which is not regarded as democratic by the west because of what it considers to be the norm in this regard, I’d say the Cuban system is pretty enticing. I imagine it would make socialism extremely hard to pull through, if the party could just be voted out after a few years. Also we know Capitalism is an inhumane system based on exploitation of both humans as well as animals and our planet in general, so banning a party that wants to defend such a system makes sense to me.
Obviously I am a proponant of democracy and I’d love to see a socialist country make their system work better than Cuba has in regard to allowing other political parties, but I don’t see that happening, as long as the west under the leadership of the US, is so keen on squashing every bit of communism there is. I’m keen on hearing what others think abt this opinion though.
This may not completely address the argument that the unemployed are lazy, but I think one has to keep in mind what unemployment benefits are for us workers. It’s an extremely good weapon against our employers. A high unemployment benefit means that we have less to fear when it comes to class struggle. So if anyone argues against unemployed people getting paid, they’re talking about stripping the workers of an important weapon they can use to improve working conditions for themselves in the future.
