They don’t do this because they’re beholden to capitalist interests and the inherent contradiction between them prevents it. Because they can’t acknowledge that contradiction, they havey to speak about minorities, women, LGBT to court the left. This isn’t to say that what they’re saying about those groups is wrong, just that the analysis is weak and feels divisive to uneducated white voters.

But my general point is that with an actual left platform, they’d win.

In more extreme moments with sufficient organization behind them, protests can develop into revolutions such as the fascist counter-revolution in Ukraine in 2014.
