I too have noticed a general drop in the quality of content on Reddit. Some of the smaller communities keep providing good information but now it’s a bit harder to find and sort them, others have absolutely went to shit.

Compared to most constitutions on the planet, it’s considered a short one.
Seems like journalists failed to do their due dilligence on this one. From an international law standpoint South Africa has absolutely no obligation to arrest Putin as he would be protected under diplomatic immunity as stipulated on the Vienna Convention of 1969 (and custom). In fact Article 98 of the ICC treaty directly prevents this from happening.
What South Africa doesn’t want is the shit show of having Putin on an official visit. The guy will be bad PR and a liability to them at this point.

The people are not the problem, the system that doesn’t allow them to voice their opinions through a fully democratic vote is.
We usually talk about “democracies” as an umbrella term without regards to how their electoral and government systems actually work.
Absolutely, most people that think they’d take the high road and do the right thing in this situation are not being honest with themselves. As much as I’d love to believe that I would sacrifice everything to fight tiranny, I just know that when the time comes I would choose the easy way out and espace somwhere for a better life.
