I’d buy the new PC so that your own PC can actually be your own still and your work stuff can be relegated to that new PC.

There’s plenty of really good reason to not mix work and pleasure on your main PC, your employer or school effectively taking ownership of your main, personal system being one big one.

Optionally, I’d also just start looking for new work if you work for a BYOD place.

Based on how increasingly user-hostile Windows has been getting lately, I don’t trust it outside of a VM or outside of a second system I don’t care about if I want or need to run it baremetal for some reason, and that includes LTSC.

At least LTSC for now seems to be spared from MS’ worst anti-user atrocities, but there’s nothing saying those SKUs won’t get screwed somehow at some point down the line.

I set this up hopefully to try to switch over from Reddit, which I just now logged out of, Bluesky and to a lesser degree Mastodon has effectively replaced Twitter and might do the same for Facebook, and Pixelfed is looking really good so far as an IG replacement.

Older seasons of Pokemon hold up fine for starters. Although that series starts to get repetitive after the first few seasons, there’s only so much of, ‘Ash tries for a gym badge, Ash loses that gym badge, Team Rocket jacks Pikachu and gets what’s coming to them,’ one can watch before it gets old.
