I’m with you there. Plumbing I would avoid. I could do it, but like you said, flooding or just water damage in general makes me think twice. Gas I would be more ok with but even then I’d be wary of it.

Exactly. I’d recommend everyone try and fix things themselves at least sometimes. I try and fix small things I don’t want to have to buy again if I can.
Sometimes it makes sense to pay someone, but its a good skill to have.

If you like working with your hands, look into education for the trades. People that do trade jobs are only getting more and more rare these days so theres a good chance you can get a job that way and it pays waaay better than retail in a lot of cases.
Also like others said, knowing someone is also ideal.

I’m making chilli right now and put black beans in it. I like black beans in my chilli.

Please anyone feel free to correct me if I get anything wrong.
From my understanding, Apps dont change based on the profile they are installed in. They are the same exact app regardless of profile. Profiles just serve to separate apps for different users and further separate apps from each other with them being in thier own directories.
Not all apps that you install from the Google playstore require google play services. Some apps will run just fine without them if the developer decided not to use them during development. If they did decide to use googleplay services, the app may function OK or completely break. Just depends on the app in question.
As far as I am aware, updates will happen separately for profiles. Most apps that are installed via googleplay will install automatically. Same goes for fdroid apps in most cases unless specified otherwise.
I’m not sure what you mean by your last question, fail how? Fail to open or update?
Also, profiles aren’t really necessary for grapheneos to separate google play services from other apps or whatnot because they are already sandboxed. I dont use them myself for this reason.

I personally don’t consider my skills quite good enough to be compensated for if I’m honest. And I like helping people here on Lemmy, especially for a opensource project. I can’t contribute as much but I do what I can.
So yea shoot me a DM and we can see what works.

If you need a simple icon, I’ve done some graphic design before for the loops community on Lemmy as well as others. If you DM me, let me know what you’d like, I’d be happy to help out, no charge.

I do get that. Less things in the car means less things that can break which yea, I’m all for to a point. I just can’t take heat, I need the ac man.
And I would love to have an electric car if I drove less than 100 miles a day, if chargers were more common, if all chargers used the same common charger port and connector, and if I had a house go charge if at. Also if swaping batteries wasnt a nightmare. That should be the easiest thing to do on an electric car aside from maintaining motors or swapping other common components.

I want a car that doesnt guzzle gas, blows hot and cold and is relatively easy to maintain.
Every other “luxury” feature like touch screens, heated seats, backup cams, I don’t necessarily need. I do like having a backup camera though. My 2015 Toyota Camry does everything I need it to, aside from the stupid touchscreen and the obnoxious way it plays whatever was last playing when my phone connects. Thankfully it still has physical buttons and dials for things.

It has helped at least a little for me. It depends though.
I got lots of annoying calls about selling land because they mixed my information with someone else’s I guess. After i signed up, I got less calls like that.
IMO the best thing you can do is be very selective with what info you give out. Use a privacy focused browser, use ublock and privacybadger as well.
Also switching from Verizon to T-Mobile helped with spam. I get way less spam on tmobile at least it feels that way. This is all anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt.

Depends on the supplier. Cost of lumber did go up pretty dramatically after covid so expect it to be more expensive but that does sound overpriced.
I’d call around and see if you can find a better deal.

Fr. Can’t just drop a post like this and not share.
I like my flint 2 router from GL.Inet. Uses openwrt on the back end but has a more normal interface in the frontend with the back end still accessible if you want it.
And you can install whatever firmware you want.
Haha hes a very happy kitty. He loves being touched in almost every way.

First of all, that sounds harsh coming from a friend. Its OK to be critical, but insulting an idea like that is pretty rude and not constructive at least from what you’ve put here. You should reevaluate your friendship with this friend if that is an accurate portrayal of how they said this.
Second, your story sounds like a normal super hero story which isnt a bad thing. Theres this weird idea that you need to come up with super original concepts to be successful in art but that’s not really true. If you do something that someone’s done before, but different enough, and do it well, people will probably like it.
So yea, write your story man, not because you think people will or won’t read it, but because you want to do it.

I appreciate the transparency that you used AI.
I’m not opposed to those who use it, especially in projects where its used as a tool and not a replacement for human beings.

Man I fucking love the wiki bear skit. So good.
“Imagine trying to breath but instead of air, your lungs feel with sweet molasses, yum yum!”

That gave me a good laugh. Gnome doesnt feel right to me at all man. To each his own.
But yea, sicko fr
What a great advertisement for almost any other launcher.
Lawnchair is my go to if anyone wants a pretty simple and customizable launcher that respects your privacy.
