My dad & I are currently living in a studio apartment, so 1 room for bedroom - kitchen - living room & 1 for bathroom; his business is not doing well at the moment so money’s tight rn. Wondering how others live.

    4 bedrooms 2 baths 5 people.

Living with my best friends and my girlfriend. One of my roommates is also my girlfriends ex wife(still actually married for insurance reasons) and her best friend (also a roommate) is also an ex of hers but everyone is on good terms and has each others backs. It’s a strange family I have found myself a part of but I love them.

My spouse and I have been living for the last 25 years in a small apartment in a big city. It’s 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 living room + kitchen and a couple closets. I reckon the whole surface of our place would barely qualify as enough for a ‘master bedroom’ to the average US menage but we’re not Americans so we don’t care ;)

We’re not poor (we’re not rich, either). We simply have chosen to live like that. Learning to make with the little space we live in. Exactly like we have chosen a couple decades ago to not own a car (and to not take the plane) anymore. We want to try to reduce the amount of waste we generate and reduce our ‘ecological footprint’ on this planet.

Trying here being the important word: we do our best but there are obviously many things we could do better and a few we probably can’t improve much upon (like, I have lifelong health issues that require regular medical care and surgery, which means a lot of waste are being created just to keep me alive a little longer but, nope, I don’t feel like ending myself sooner would be a good idea, not even to spare the planet some waste, sorry ;)

Yeah I feel like an outlier in this post. I was engaged and dreamt big, like 2-5 kids, 2-4 dogs. So I bought a big house, which I am very fortunate to afford because I live in a rural mining area. So sitting with a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 2 living area, outside area by the pool, we call it a lapa, large kitchen with two separate washing areas, triple garage + area for additional 4 vehicles. The problem was she got knocked up by someone else unfortunately 6 months later, so I have a big ass house now. So I basically opened it up for people in need, this week I will have 4-5 people living with me, an abused mother with her mother to support her during the trail, hectic what some men are capable of, next week it will be about two, basically a long-term room mate, she started out as a temp but really helps in the household looking after my dogs, so it is a win win for me, and another guy that got fired and just needs a couch for a couple of days.

Also 4 dogs, 3 adopted and one was my own.

But god I miss my small 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom flat. Sounds weird but that is all I needed except a garage which it did not have, I love working and maintaining my vehicles myself.

But I am keeping my house since property prices went crazy this last year-ish, it is now cheaper paying my bond than renting a 1 bedroom flat plus nowhere for my furry dogs. Plus if I do get my family one day, they will have an awesome house

Sameish boat here. Three bedrooms for me and my two dogs after me and my wife split up, but it’s cheaper than a smaller apartment with the current rents. I now sleep in one, grow my weed in the other and have a nice small office in the third.

i have the same space, basically, at least i’m not sharing it anyone. very small. not really even room enough for a sofa and a bed unless i give up floor space to move or my small table and desk, and the bathroom is so narrow you have to shit at an angle.

We (me, spouse and 1 child) rent a big house with my grandmother who I care for. It’s 4 bedroom/2 bath, got a kitchen, living room, laundry room, a large dining room and extra living room that used to be a garage. It’s my parent’s place, while they live in an apartment for work.

The huge place is not worth it. I hate taking care of my grandmother. She has dementia and I’m burned out but we can’t afford to live anywhere else.

I went through this with my wife a few years back. We had to live in a single room for years to make ends meet.

10 years later, we are a family of four now in a three bedroom house that we will hopefully complete it’s payments in 5 years or so.

Difficulties can still happen but we will sail through it again if it needed.

1 bedroom, 1 living room joined to kitchen, 1 bathroom. Living alone. I hate the place but I locked in a good price when I signed the contract, it would be 50% more now.

3.5/2 . $4/sqft/mo . It’s a beautiful place but it hits the wallet HARD. It’s nestled in this new ‘15 minute city’ idea, with mixed-use rental towers and walkable access to shops, services and a metro/subway. We’d be very proud and happy to live in this wonderful apartment for a decade, if we could.

We have two full baths, but the master bath has two showers which is the fucking bomb if you live with someone you’re cool being naked around.

3 bedroom house. I got lucky and bought it during the housing crash. Also my neighbor’s health was failing and needed to move in with her son so they could care for her, so we got a good deal on the house.

Apartment in a country house, 3 bedrooms, one living/dining area, kitchen, full bathroom, small restroom, cellar/pantry, small garage (which can’t fit our current car), one parking place, decent size terrace and backyard. Two of my kids share one of the bedrooms.

We are thinking of moving to the city, as the kids are getting ready to start uni, and we are looking at 4-6 bedrooms, so every kid has their own room, and maybe even have one or two dedicated offices, since we work from home. We currently have desks in our bedroom and the livingroom. And hopefully more than 2 toilets, since it’s a struggle every morning :)

In the US: 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath; 3 stories since the basement is finished. The basement has my office and the (giant) couch + TV along with the half-bath, guestroom, laundry and a storage closet for mostly outdoor gear. Ground floor has a bedroom where our roommate lives (helping him get out of credit card debt), bathroom, kitchen, dining. Upstairs is the main suite: just my wife’s and my room with attached bath and closet.

House has an attached 2-car garage and a big 3-4 car driveway as well, though overall the lot is pretty small by suburban standards in our area (<0.25 acre). Have two tiny dogs, and lots of plans for upgrades and remodels.

We have five bedrooms and one bathroom for five people. Well, usually more people because there’s always someone’s partner here as well. I used to share a bedroom and it’s horrible for my anxiety. I need the luxury of privacy.
