A wind-whipped brush fire Friday damaged at least two structures and forced hundreds to evacuate as flames burned dangerously close to homes in the Oakland Hills.
Forward progress stopped at 4pm, all air support was released before sunset, but evacuation orders have still not been lifted and the satellite is showing lots of heat as well. Thanks to massive effort only 2 homes were damaged, one of which is the presumed source of the fire. Really amazing work by NorCal firefighters from like a dozen different jurisdictions!
Edit: this is a good time to recommend the Watch Duty app: it notified me before Nixle and has a really easily usable map. This incident can be tracked at: https://share.watchduty.org/i/36560
