I am buying a VR Headset to play games. I don’t know if I’ll buy a standalone or PCVR headset, but if I were to buy a standalone like the Meta Quest 3, having the possiblity of connecting to PC is a must.
I was wondering though how can you actually play pirated VR games. Does it work the same way as normal games where you just execute it and that’s it? I am asking mainly because of platforms like SteamVR, which some reviews on VR headsets I have watched make it seem like it is a mandatory thing to have if you want to play games, but playing pirated games is something else entirely.
For PCVR games, it’s exactly the same as normal PC piracy. You can add them as non-steam games and then tick the “show in VR library” option so they actually appear in the VR shit.
For standalone, on the Quest 3 (which, BTW, can also do PCVR), there is an app called Rookie Sideloader that can pull (nearly) anything from the official store without paying for it and then it’s just installed as an unknown app instead of showing up in the default app list.
I must be one of the few that launches them from the actual directories they are installed :/
Great, thank you. So you just add them to the steam library, that’s what I suspected honestly. Where can you find the option to show in VR library?
Right click the game in your Steam Library -> Properties -> Toggle include in VR library.
