I have a mini-pc running Ubuntu, with pfsense in a VM (Virtual box).

I want to add pihole in it’s own VM, and since it will be just pihole in the VM I want the OS to be as lightweight as possible.

I’m considering running pihole on a Raspberry Pi VM, however was wondering if there is any reason to use Debian/Ubuntu instead.

I would think the Raspberry Pi VM would use a lot less resources, any reason to go with Debian/Ubuntu instead?
