Does it really matter if I use Tor Browser or a regular browser (firefox+ublock) with vpn (client or router)? I still need to have javascript enabled in order to have the discord web app function correctly.
can Tor Browser still offer me anonymity when using the Discord web app and having all Javascript enabled from the Tor browser settings??
Then, If I only use VPN, Is it a concern that my real IP will leak? I don’t want that. If I do use VPN, should I create an additional wifi on my OpenWRT router and install ProtonVPN on it, or is it just as good/safe to use the ProtonVPN client on the device?
Also does OS matter much when it comes to finger printing through browser?
Lastly, would any of you recommend something like this:
1) have dualboot/VM linux (dedicated for “X” activities, eg. a hobby or a set of hobbies/activities or one “area” in your life so to speak)
2) only use the finger-printable browser (that I use to sign into discord) in the way that is in accordance to the “discord persona” e.g. I’d only visit websites related to “X” and all of my discord usage is about “X”
3) have prepaid mobile number but the it is only used when registering (if needed) to services I use relating to “X”
does this kind of “compartmentalization” help at all?
What are your thoughts? Also, do you use Discord through Tor or VPN yourself, how do you do it?
