Just give the “Sim” IP back to Wright and let him bring Maxis back. Then give us Sim Ant and Sim Tower remasters.

See, I’m always confused by the timeline on this argument.

Sim Tower wasn’t a Wright joint. Maxis published it. That was the Seaman guy. They’ve made sequels/remasters of Sim Tower a bunch of times, sans Maxis, Wright or EA.

Meanwhile, Maxis had already gone public when it was acquired, and Wright worked under EA just as long as he did under Maxis. Sim City 4 was an EA thing, as was every The Sims.

So at which point does it go sour and at what point is it EA’s fault? Because man, for my money, Sim City 4 is still the best city builder ever, with a solid debate to be had about Skylines 1, maaaaybe.

EA sports in the super Nintendo era… Yeah. Nothing came close to them. However now? I could play Madden 2013 and not really see any difference between that and the current Madden. Full price games for roster updates?!? Are you out of your mind?!?

        • Bard’s Tale
        • Kings of the Beach
        • Chuck Yeager’s Flight Trainer
        • F/18 Interceptor
        • Wasteland

They had some good games outside of the Sim franchise.

Also, Dr J. vs Larry Bird and Skate or Die. There are a ton of games if you count games they published(M.U.L.E., etc) but I think publishing is what led to their evil empire.

The EA games I played on Commodore 64 were, meh, about as good as anything else.

I had Deathlord for the Apple IIe. This would’ve been 1987 or so.

The copy protection made it not want to boot on the model of disc drive we had. There were only two models available. (Letting it keep trying to boot for an hour eventually worked.)

EA has always been this shitty.

Man I remember when the only thing I knew about EA was “E. A. Sports. It’s in the game!”. Those were good times
