I feel very lucky to have been able to attend. Easy top 10 concert of all time for me. I think it was Born of Osiris Converge, High on Fire, Mastodon, and Dethklok if I’m remembering correctly. Gotta go look that up though as it’s been like 15 years or something.
The only person I remember being there (it was about a decade and a half ago) was Gene Hoglan on drums. I’d have to go look it up to see who else was on stage. Agree though that it would have been badass to have his inspiration up there.
Dude just never ever, ever ever, EVER missed a beat. So fucking tight. He’s so good he almost made it look… boring, if that makes sense? Just completely effortless.
I watched a video of him sitting down with the drummer of Revocation, and you’re right, he can do some crazy shit without blinking an eye lol.
I personally felt he even sounded bored in the last 2 Testament albums, I’m ready for some more Dark Angel n hear him get back to his roots.
Saw them live with Mastodon back in the day. Such a great show. Mastodon played the Crack the Skye album straight through.
EDIT: Here’s a video of this song from the show I was at that I found on YouTube…
What I would give to have that memory… That’s amazing

That sounds familiar. 15 years of drinking and smoking in the interim made me misremember lol. https://www.concertarchives.org/concerts/mastodon-with-dethklok-converge-and-high-on-fire-at-washington-avenue-armory-october-25-2009
Who does Brendan Small get to tour with him? If he got every band member he was inspired by to make the characters, that’d be a dream come true

THE Atomic Clock, holy shit that would’ve been awesome to see
