I’m not British. Can someone explain what this means? When is a river “in”?
It’s related to tides. The river being in would suggest the tide was in / high. So a lot more water to slow down operations.
I guess the lesson is, if you’re gonna steal a canoe and don’t know how to swim, steal a life vest, too.
