danciestlobster@lemm.eeto Games@lemmy.world•Oblivion Remastered Impressions (and Discussion Thread)English1·28 days agoOk but I did lol at pulling of a complete submersion. Also, it’s a little funny that they seem to know at some level that this ideology will piss off their wives/gf (as they wrote), but still advocate doing it. I guess all their wives and gfs must be woke? Or maybe women are too woke and therefore they never had wives and gfs to begin with?
The sentiment here is obviously terrible but at least there can be a laugh at how stupid it is. I mean…its so full of typos how could you ever think this person is trustworthy

My PC does live in the living room connected to the tv for couch gaming most of the time, but I do still do basic internet browsing periodically.

danciestlobster@lemm.eeOPto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Linux help and actual pros and cons1·29 days agoI don’t do any of the games listed here as problematic with the anticheat stuff so I don’t think it will be an issue for me. Some of the tweaks listed as needed on the protondb seem slightly intimidating at the moment but I am hoping that once I have better context for what those are it won’t be an issue anymore.

danciestlobster@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•US to demand EU pulls away from China in return for cutting tariffsEnglish22·1 month agoI understand that fairly well, and totally get it. The us should never have had the power and influence it had before all this, and it’s long overdue for other countries to be more mistrustful based on how deeply broken and unstable the country has been even before trump.
I think it’s important to understand that setting the country on fire as you point out is not quite as simple here though. For starters the country is enormous and most people are destitute with limited means of transportation, even getting to their states capital building for example is outside the realm of possibility. Then consider our laws are so backwards in many states anyone who, for example, is peacefully protesting but obstructing a roadway can legally be run over and murdered. And that every trump supporter (1/3 of the county, appx) has a dozen assault rifles at home that they would love to use on anyone who dares complain about their lord and Savior.
None of this is to say that protests aren’t possible or the country shouldn’t be on fire. Several million of us marched a couple weeks back for example. More violent protests are coming but would be suicide without strong organization, and even with it is very likely to have an enormous death toll. One that many of us will still be willing to pay, once it can be as impactful as possible.
In a much broader sense, though, I would like to say I don’t believe it is justified to blame EVERY citizen for the actions of their leadership, especially in “democracies” as deeply broken as the US. I don’t hate every Russian because I don’t believe the all hate Ukraine and love Putin. I don’t hate every Israeli since many of them still don’t support genocide and are unable to stop their leaders from being warmongers. I don’t hate every German who lived through Hitler since many didn’t want that either. Hate the people in charge, hate the people who support them and helped them get in charge, but support the victims of those people. Collective punishment and the notion that EVERYONE in a country should pay for the actions of its leadership is still a war crime and ignores the people who do everything they can to stop it, even when it doesn’t work (yet)

Wow that’s so interesting! I like to compare that with the day it expires! When was that again?

Sometimes I am tempted to just join the random multiplayer lobbies people have open without knowing them and see how it goes. Haven’t tried it yet though
