This is a nothing-burger. As someone who watched far too much cable news in the 2000’s, this is obviously signal loss. It was a regular occurrence. I remember seeing interviews cut, and they never masked them with signal scrambling. They were very abrupt and clean.

It started to crap out when he mentioned Iran. He also presumably said “Israel is more than capable” (of handling Iran). Why would they cut him off when he’s promoting Israels military capability?

Statistical models and inference are mathematically guaranteed to have false positives and false negatives. False positives in this context mean entirely innocent people will be flagged and scrutinised, and have their private data shared, or potentially be investigated, when they have done nothing wrong at all. If fingerprints are one in a 1 million, and you have a database of a billion people, on average you’ll implicate ~1000 innocent people every time you run a print. That’s how you end up with millions of people on a watchlist. It’s criminally incompetent, at best.

We don’t live in East Germany. We’re supposed to be living in democracies where our governments act in our best interests, and our rights are not for sale.

They didn’t have tracking devices and microphones in the pockets of most adults on Earth. They didn’t capture millions of data points about all of their daily lives. They didn’t have billion dollar economies structured around the capture and sale of that data. They didn’t have the ability to flag dissidents or resistance autonomously, in real-time based on statistical modeling, or the capability to execute everyone they flag as opposition with cheap fully-autonomous drones. This is called turnkey-totalitarianism. All the tools have already been built. The only thing a tyrant needs to do is turn the key.

Either educate yourself about the world or keep your ignorance to yourself. Your opinion is currently worthless.

The second one even does custom ads based on channel content. I would love a plugin that queries random retro ads off the internet. Like you’re watching Star Trek and get an ad for the SNES or Supersoaker when shows have scenes designed around commercials, or between episodes.

Like me, you probably never thought about how water gets from stomach to bladder. Humans tend to ignore the common mundane things that have always been like they do.

Capitalism is essentially based on the concept that everyone doing whatever they believe is in their best interest will magically balance itself out and achieve the most-efficient outcome, instead of the most self-serving and greedy criminals and psychopaths colluding to exploit and deceive the masses, accrue the lions share, and enslave everyone else.

It’s basically a religiously-dogmatic mental illness that has no place beyond the 19th Century, but the criminals and psychopaths used their wealth to exploit and deceive the masses… so here we are. May the greediest psychopath win!

Think of it like the surface of the Earth. The same building blocks are everywhere but their distribution evolved and changed drastically over time based on initially small variances in heat and density. The distribution is deterministic, but appears “random” to an observer that spawns 14 billion years into the chaos of the explosion.
