  • Possibly, that’s still not ops responsibility. Let me give you a few reasons and deeper explanations as to why.

My ex kept me in a very violent and abusive relationship because he would say, I’ll kill myself if you leave me. Should I have stayed to protect his mental health? It’s a very common abusive tactic for abusive types to use extreme emotional manipulation and abuse, to entrap a partner.

It’s not any one person’s job to manage another person’s mental health and if you aren’t trained you could be meaning to help, but actually be doing extreme harm, or enabling, especially in situations like this.

Safety comes from feeling like you’re in control of your emotions. If you ascribe your ability to be safe on another person too heavily, it can cause an infinite loop of fight or flight to an extreme degree.

If you aren’t in control of your own emotions, your safety and ability to emotionally regulate is entirely based on another person, you have split your own “self”, and them leaving would feel like a part of yourself is dying. It incredibly harmful to both people involved.

Your emotions are not someone else’s responsibility, ever. Your emotions are a message from a part of your brain that isn’t able to verbalise or understand language, for you.

They are most often a warning signal, that if you don’t listen to, becomes distressed, which drives urgency in delivering the message, so those emotions become louder and louder until you can’t ignore them. This is caused by any type of emotional unsafety. Your emotions were designed to warn you theres a leopard in the trees stalking you, if you don’t listen to them, they get loud. They can’t actually tell the difference between there being a leopard stalking you and any other form in nowadays and time, represents an unsafe situation.

Ops partner needs intense mental health assistance to help rewire an accidental loop of fight or flight they’re stuck in. It is not helping them for op to stay.

I absolutely agree this person needs care, and would highly suggest finding a mental health professional and care giver, if able.

But you also have to consider that op doesn’t owe someone else so much that they should live in a distressing state, themselves. If op wants to end the relationship, they very much should be able to leave at any time. Not being able to leave, or owing to someone else’s mental health and safety before your own is not an ok burden to put on someone. Whilst I absolutely appreciate you have a kind heart in thinking about the partner, op deserves equal consideration, and it’s very easy to accidental skip over someone’s feelings and needs, because they seem quiet and less in distress. And you shouldn’t have to go into distress to be deserving of your needs. I would suggest this relationship is incredibly mentally and emotionally damaging to op, and they deserve to be able to leave and heal.

Op, I am so sorry for all you are going through.

  • Dude, you don’t want to bring farm analogies into this, with the type of genitals you have. In your example all humans are the farm animals. Not just women. And if you mean just women should be treated as farm animals…dude. This is giving, “you want equal rights, I should be allowed to punch you”. I’m sure you didn’t mean to come across like one of those. Because ew.

  • Yeah, but nah, she’s engaged a rule for herself that her safety is reliant on external factors, it’s a consistent loop of evoking fight or flight. It’s enabling to continue a relationship in any form, op actually needs to entirely cut cords. Then ex can see she can survive without op, invalidating said rule. But that will take therapy and guidance, so definitely engaging mental health services. But absolutely nope tf out of there, op. Zero contact, go.

  • Are her parents available for a conversation, with you (or someone who you feel can keep in touch with her and advocate for for / implement supports)?

This is not your job to manage, but if it would make you feel better, you can find someone to hand it off to, if theres no one, I would suggest contacting mental health services in your area?

Are any of these a possibility?

  • I’ve been learning about the brain and some psychology, it really helps to be able to see between the lines of what people think or their motivations and insecurities. I’ve always had a bit of a read people gift (thanks childhood trauma!). But learning it this way also helped me kill the people pleasing side of me that was super toxic (again, thabks childhood trauma).

I don’t recommend the trauma pathway, but I do recommend learning about the brain, you could pick up enough skills to see what’s happening internally, for someone. I get it now, how psychologists can tell what’s going on with people, without them really saying.

  • I don’t know if you noticed you contradicted yourself there. Letting ai do your thinking decreasing your value and then, talking about using ai to replace your thinking.

Ai is causing psychosis because people are trying to use it to replace thinking. If you don’t use it you lose it, literally especially with your brain. You have to know how to produce those skills from within or you don’t have those skills and then you are worthless in any workplace, but more importantly to yourself. You have to be meta to the aim being the TV show, and control it from a place of checks and balances (us performing those checks and balances of ai) handing over the reigns of higher thinking to a machine designed to be a yes man, is not ever a pathway to expanding your thinking or even learning to use ai, that’s just sitting on a couch till you lose critical muscle mass, but it’s your brain. (No shame to sitting on a couch or losing muscle mass, I’m just trying to explain it in relative terms)

Currently there is no way to use ai without causing ai hallucinations, because there isn’t a model readily available that runs as a tool, there are only models that run as a manipulative tool that provoke said replacement of your thinking, I can not assume that’s an accident. Seeing the usual levels of evil that come from the companies pushing this hard, tells me this is just as evil, if not the most evil thing they’ve done, measured against all the things they’re openly flouting, copyright law, openly burning rare literature for a monopoly, burning the already past tipping point climate, burning computer ownership and accessibility, I could go on. Theres very open bribery and flouting of social rules laws and common moralities, they’re desperate to cause this monster they’ve created out of ai, to attach like the symbiot in aliens that I forget the name of because I’m pre first coffee and my brain just be like that.

I am anti ai, as it currently stands. The current versions need to be left to die in silence and hatred and rejection we are all collectively currently showing. Only because it has been made into a Frankensteins monster, by the people responsible who have infinite money to pay judges to rule their way and have zero morals, nay a deficit of morals.

Ai will survive the ai bubble, because the ai bubble is the unsustainable practices of the billionaires and the manipulative interface designed to lessen your critical thinking skills.

But the ai that survives the bubble will and should be so highly regulated (it’s currently the opposite) and used as a tool, not a replacement for critical thinking, it can never do that. But there are so many things it can do to better humanity, none of which are currently being used.

We have to wait this one out. We’re not missing any boat.

  • Oooh, a tuxedo, they’re mad fkrs. Is it the Chinese people who call them cow cats? I have one. I named her Sparrow, after captain Jack sparrow. Because she’s absolutely mad. No fear. She once brought a rat into my house, she’s a particularly small cat, people think she’s still a kitten, the rat was nearly as big as her. It was biting her, she didn’t care. She was in heaven. I was holding a bucket over this rat, side note, I’m ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED of rats, so I’m holding this bucket with a book, and my plan is catch and release. But I’m terrified, so I’m just holding this bucket and shaking and not really able to go near the rat. The rat got so sick of being attacked by my cat, it walked to the bucket and put itself in. Like just with, I’m done with this, vibes. And I took it outside. And ran back inside squealing ew.

So yeah. My similar looking cat is named Sparrow.

  • I see blokes talking about how long it took to grow their beards, and how long it took to become full. I put more effort in by years, why shouldn’t I be proud. We can flip the narrative given to us, that only certain things are allowed to be celebrated. There are no rules, everything is made up. And a lot of the dialogue made up around women is designed to opress. I do not subscribe!

I do pluck them, tho because otherwise I give myself sores on my face fiddling with them, lol.

Personally I’m excited for my crone phase. All knowledgeable and wise and able to burst any ego balloon with a pin prick. I’m honing my witchy look. And unapologetically existing.
