I haven’t bought the game yet, but I’ve been told this guy’s setting list on ProtonDB is supposed to help a lot.

Also apparently changing graphics options on the game leads often leads to bad performance issues for that session. After changing settings, if it seems like the game is running worse, you will likely need to restart the game to see how well it will actually run with the new settings.

I’m pretty interested in Spellrogue. Dice and deck builders go really well together, Slice & Dice and Dicey Dungeons are both 10/10 and very satisfying to play. I’ve heard good things about Spellrogue while it was in early access, so I’m hoping it will be another great option.

How recently was it added to your GoG library? It’s not uncommon for new games to not show up for awhile if GoG is having any server issues.

If the game isn’t a recent addition to your library, and relogging into GoG doesn’t fix it, you might try Junk Store and see if it shows the game.

Cool, thanks for sharing. I was wondering how you switched the arcade controls without swapping cables, unfortunate to hear it’s a pain. I’ve been wanting to do a virtual pinball build for awhile now, and I really like the idea of having the device be useable without my deck docked to it. I’ll probably see if I can figure out a good way to swap devices, maybe try using a usb switch and hdmi switch to swap inputs/display.

You almost are never helpful, just lashing out at people for doing something wrong or asking for help instead of figuring things out themselves. Oh that’s super cool. I see you have a raspberry pi inside, do you use that just for retro games, and then swap over to a docked Steam Deck for more demanding games? How do you handle swapping?

The controversial threads get more posts, so usually they get bumped to the top over and over until the hit the post cap. Being on top also attracts more posts, but seemingly the easiest way to get a newly created thread to succeed and attract posts is by posting something controversial first.

For example if I wanted to talk about Morrowind, and I think that overall most users there like Morrowind, I’d be more likely to have a successful thread/discussion by making a first post that was something like “I can’t believe I fell for the meme that this was actually a good game”. I’ll get more intial responses of people disagreeing with me, and that will help the thread get started. After that the discussion can move on to other things about the game.

There used to be a dozen sites like 4chan. I don’t know if any of them are still around, but I’m willing to bet that if 4chan doesn’t come back there will be a new website that takes its place.

4chan is a pretty unique experience. Most of the internet is forming into echo chambers, where having a different opinion than the “correct” opinion for that community will get you downvoted or banned. My understanding with 4chan is that post popularity is determined by replies, and frequently controversial opinions/etc get the most replies. So posting stuff that most people will agree will result in a less popular thread than posting something controversial, offensive, or wrong.

I think this leads to a lot of the negative things you’ve heard about 4chan, but encouraging disagreements between its members keeps it from becoming a full echo chamber like a lot of social media. They still have some dominant community opinions, but those opinions can’t really smother all the other opinions like on most sites.

To be clear, 4chan is a cesspool. But for all it’s flaws it does offer something unique that’s largely missing on other websites.

SteamDeckHQ did a first impressions, and they’re getting a pretty consistent 30fps (higher fps possible inside, but outside can’t go much higher than 30. They mentioned a few fps dips near crowds but that’s it.

I think part of Blue Prince for me is that I keep discovering additional layers of depth to it. They keep giving me reasons to go back and re-evaluate rooms, and I have a dozen different larger puzzles that I’m sorting out the details on as I go. I also appreciate the steady permanent improvements to the rooms and my base resources, and it’s really cool whenever I find a new mechanic to abuse for easier future runs.

The storytelling is vague, I’ve “finished” the main objective of finding room 46 but the pieces of the story I’ve put together suggest there’s a much more important conclusion to reach.

I think another studio was handling a lot of it, so it may be less jank than a typical Bethesda game.

The game was a bit of a slow burn at first for me, but the more I’ve played the more I’ve gotten hooked by it. Now it’s all I’ve thought about for days.

I can confirm I was able to watch 3 different videos in the Rumpus room over the past few days.

All the videos have worked for me on my OLED deck afaik, and recent patches mentioned fixing videos.

Japan in general has weird copyright/patent laws. For example the whole palworld patent lawsuits.

Good news is it probably won’t affect people outside of Japan, except that it will stunt games/etc made in Japan.
