I remember waiting patiently for somebody to do a study or show some internal data on whether the claim denial rate went up or down, and never saw a lick of it.

Like, sure, there are people who get their claims approved. There are also people who get them denied and don’t dispute the decision. You can’t use anecdotes as evidence.

EDIT: I went searching again just now and I found that, at least 2 years after the killing, UnitedHealth was STILL investing heavily in AI claim handling, which would increase the claim denial rate. The industry as a whole have also raised rates dramatically. The slightly more apologetic UHC interim-CEO resigned and was replaced by a more profit-focused individual by shareholders. Healthcare companies spent more on security in 2024.

  • The message is good because Elon Musk fucking sucks.

I don’t like Pizzacake because of the vote botting, mass censorship, many misandrist posts, she draws rape porn, I don’t personally like her artstyle, and her sense of humour falls completely flat for me. She’s also the kind of political activist who starts supporting a cause a few years after it becomes maintstream in her circles.

  • Vote botting, mass censorship, and a lot of misandrist posts of which I will provide no evidence of when sealions ask me about it but is pretty easy to go and search for. She has a kiwifarms page which I guess is a place where people come together to shame and harass people, not something I endorse, but if you’re truly interested then just go and read it to see her haters tell you exactly why they hate her.

  • TLDW: They were popular in the 1940s and when they fell into disrepair and became environmental hazards the ordinances banned them.

The video author tries to make the case that they’re actually superior to conventional homes and that the bans lack proper engineering analysis and other comparisons, but I think it’s actually a lot simpler than that: you have a much easier time tearing down, bulldozing, etc a building made of wood, brick, stone, or mud than one made of steel beams and panels.

I think the innovation we’re all waiting for is curved ceramic beams, similar to the rebar alternatives on the market.
