  • The other major tech news I’ve heard recently about keeping social media free and for the people, is that BlueSky has just implemented a link tracking system so they can track where users go from their site (they’re doing so to sell the information to corporate clients).

This means Mastodon is currently the Federated alternative to the twitter style websites.

  • Yeah it’s crazy. What’s that line: To the privileged any attempt at equality is going to look like a loss of privilege.

Something like that. I’m pretty sure they just want to harm come to groups they’re prejudiced against. Even more insulting is I’m pretty sure the Trump administration has a lot of drink and drug related parties, Trump spent his youth in nightclubs, Musk is addicted to ketamine and Grimes mentioned them tripping on acod together.

So it’s debauchery at the top, austerity for everyone else. It’s a real let them eat cake they’re doing. Not serious or good people at all. Very little in the way of mprals or ethics, it’s all about power, privilege, politics, and personal gain.

  • Oh it’s the same shit as feudalism, but with technology… Thanks for letting me know that’s what Techno-Feudalism means. So glad we had this enlightening conversation to figure out those two words. I guess we could add “global” to the front of it so you know it’s not just happening in a castle in 14th century Europe, but all across the planet.

Like, how many castles were in Europe? Okay, compare that to how many Amazon’s there are? It’s not the same thing at all

Sorry, I don’t have time for this mind dulling discussion.

“Guns are just metal sling shots with technology! Bullets should be called rocks! They’re just rocks! It’s no different than throwing a snow ball which is why I should be allowed down range at the shooting range!”

“War is just a big fist fight! I wanna talk about swords!”

    Yah. Bye!

  • Techno-Feudalism is a specific idea from Yanis Varifakous, about places like Amazon, Ebay, AliExpress, Steam, Facebook, even YouTube to some extent. It has to do with the Market Place controlling which prices are promoted to buyers and sellers, and is about price fixing and capturing industries that the bulk of the population require to do commerce.

This is a very important concept to note and understand because it relates to the end of two party Capitalism (where buyers and sellers negotiate prices with each other directly).

So no, the use of fuedalism isn’t to indicate something about old school mechanisms of war, weaponry, brutality, or repression. It’s a reference to the role of economic serfdom and the economic aspects of fuedalism. Comparing those particular aspects to the modern roles of content creators, drop shippers, and consumers. All of whom are forced through the economic lens of markets which are owned or controlled by billionaires who have captured/own these required marketplaces.

  • First they came for the supreme court, then the media, then the peaceful certification of votes at the Capitol building on Jan 6th.

The supreme Court because that’s their super power now, then the media, because they need to hold sway over their devotees, then Jan 6th, as an attempt to steal an election… But that wasn’t prosecuted well enough, because of the Supreme Court and the media.

…so no offense to Khalil, but a few basic norms were violated rather than legally protected, and that’s what makes his situation and the many more to come possible. The separation doesn’t offer any protections if two of them become captured.

You can actually recycle some plastics at home with a flat tray and an oven. PET, LDP and HDP can all be sorted, cut up and placed on a tray. With a relatively low heat setting they’ll flatten out into a sheet that can be cut and used for hobbying or other purposes.

Look for tutorials online for the details.

Also, some countries have MUCH BETTER recycling programs than others.
