Just because there is no pre-planned, external meaning doesn’t mean your life has no meaning.
Many people find meaning in family, friends, careers, projects, experiences, or just general enjoyment of life.

Its the heat that kills them so this could be minimized with the cooling systems EVs use for their packs.

Without some major breakthrough that actually results in real artificial intelligence, I don’t see how any of this is sustainable long term. Things feel just like they did back in 2007 when everyone and their mom was buying a house to flip using an adjustable rate mortgage and you’d be stupid not to join them.

Potentially, but its better than nothing as a supplement and most people don’t drive very far very often so it could be enough just charging overnignt.

Stellantis isn’t an American company, and I dont understand why people keep trying to claim it is.
Ford didnt cancel a battery plant they just won’t be making EV batteries at every plant to instead focus on batteries for energy grid storage. This is probably a smart bet since they’ll still be able to do battery pack R&D in a way that actually leads to a product that sells.
Can you point to where GM is slowing down? Looks to me like they’re increasing their EV lineup by bringing the Bolt back next year.

I dont have numbers so take this with a grain of salt, but I would guess they’re probably not too far off from one another. With 110V charging, it’ll be slow but effective for overnight charging, and resistive heating elements use an insane amount of power especially when they’re trying to warm something constantly in -10F weather.
I live in the PNW and dont have to deal with much cold weather but from everything I’ve read, EVs handle thr cold just fine.

93F is giving you that much grief? I thrive in warm weather like that.

Its not as if this is an insurmountable issue though. Apartment parking lots already have electricity running through them. Where my sister lives in the Midwest, lots already have outlets available at each parking spot so that people can plug their block heaters in during the winter.

Oh yeah which ones? The only American auto companies are Tesla, Ford, and GM and all of them offer EVs.

Cash for Clunkers didn’t really have the negative effects that people purport it to have had. Only 677K vehicles were scrapped out of 246 million in the nation (less than 0.3%). I do agree it was more of a benefit to wealthier people due to the fact that you needed to buy a new car to use it, but what really hurt the poor was the recession happening at the time which drove up the cost of used vehicles since fewer people were buying new.

These seems like a much better approach than the government doing nothing other than enacting a future ban that will eventually be scrapped when a new crop of politicians gets elected and everyone notices we don’t have the infrastructure in place to actually make this work.

The AirBnB/VRBO owners in Seattle seem to think they hit pay dirt with the World Cup qualifier match there next month. I’ve had two hosts in a row claim they have ‘emergency repairs’ to do there that weekend (nearly two months after the day I booked) and demand that I cancel my reservation, so they can relist it at double the price.
I’m planning a birthday trip there that just happens to fall on the same day and it’s been a huge pain in the ass. One of the owners even called me pretending to work for VRBO then argue with me on the phone about why I need to cancel the reservation on my end. I spoke to customer service and forced the hosts to cancel in their end, which locks them out of relisting the property during that time. The above mentioned host had to claim “the property was sold,” according to my cancellation email, then presumably relist it under a new account but without any history or reviews.

Furthermore why would he need to be a father to volunteer at a women’s shelter on Fathers Day?

I think we’re up to episode 4 or 5 of the newest season and I’m really curious if they filmed a lot of this before or after the literal exact same events happened in real life. Things like Trump as Jesus.
I suppose this administration is just using the Nazi’s fascist playbook, so it’s all spelled out for us already.

Yeah and now they own TikTok in addition to Twitter so they can feed all these people their chosen narratives about everything.

Note 4 doesn’t work as i tried to use mine as touchscreen for a 3D printer. The only way to do it would have been to solder a buck converter to two of the battery pins to make it think it had a charged battery connected.

How do you figure? You specifically bolded “in places that don’t need them” in a reply to my “some cities make it easy to go without a car but most don’t” which sounds like you’re in agreement that some cities can do without cars. Vancouver, WA is not one of those cities.

It’a supposed to be included with the Interstate bridge replacement but the sun will probably have run out of fuel before both sides finally agree to build it.

“getting a run at it” often does work if slow and steady doesn’t work (i.e the pulling vehicle doesn’t have enough traction). But you need enough slack to get the pulling car moving.
This is never a good idea as straps and chains have no “give” so all that energy you’re putting into the strap will be released instantly once it goes tight, which will impart the same amount of force as if you were crashing into one another at the same speed (possibly worse since cars have crumple zones to reduce impact forces). Many people have died doing this when the part they’re attached to shears off and gets launched through the window of the opposing vehicle along with the strap/chain.
They make recovery ropes that are specifically designed for this purpose that act like a giant rubber band and spread this force out over several seconds so you can pull with more speed safely.
Lol and he’s a Democrat who served as a cabinet member during Biden’s presidency (in the same role that RFK Jr is currently ‘serving’). We really need to stop supporting either one of these parties as they’re both rotten to the core.
