I consider “AI Vegan” as “AI models trained only on public domain works.”

2·4 days agoThe problem is malvertising and tracking. Despite Google’s best efforts, ads that deploy malware still exist, and so does ads that track what page/site you’re on to profile you.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Adam Neely: Suno, AI Music, and the Bad FutureEnglish
1·7 days agoSuno took a deal with the Devil in “partnering” with WMG. They limited (but not prohibited) downloading of your tracks made in Suno, but unlike Udio, they maintained the content creation system and the user rights. So far.
That can change at any time as per the WMG wims. If they make it a walled garden like Udio, it will fail compeltely.
Endgame is for WMG to have its own AI platform it can monopolize with.
Another music making AI (there are several from local models to the Chinese) will rise from the ashes. Suno was good, but not great. It didn’t have the cleanest sound.

Pulse of Truth@infosec.pub•Users flock to open source Moltbot for always-on AI, despite major risksEnglish
2·12 days agoSo, the security risks are half a skill issue, and half a config issue.
TLDR:
-
Cloud service connections are risk number 1
-
Agentic capability is risk number 2
-
Attack surface is risk number 3
-
A recent name change (Clawdbot -> Moltbot) allowed many scammers to take advantage of people with crypto scams and malware
Basically, if you want to run this bot, you need to secure your network, sandbox this system, and only run local models using a private messaging system that can’t be accessed outside your net.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 banned speed cameras. It will backfire - Brompton drivers pay the highest auto insurance rate in the country. Now, their premiums will go upEnglish
45·12 days agoThe problem with red light cameras is the financial incentive to make them catch people. When enough people know there is a red light camera, the number of people who run reds goes down, and the number of rear-end collisions goes up. The camera costs a fortune every month, each camera, so if its revenue dropped because people know it’s there, there’s financial incentive to shorten the grace before the red light, to increase the number of red light runners…
