A new book staff telling the history of video games through the eyes of one of gaming's greatest magazines, Electronic Gaming Monthly, has raised over $250,000 from crowdfunding. It quickly reached its initial funding goal of $35,000 in under three hours and over the last week has had over 3,500 backers get involved. Since then, every stretch goal has been achieved, including creating a brand new one-off magazine. Electronic Gaming Monthly ran for over 25 years and was read by millions worldwide.
