Mmm yes, because when I think of dating apps for adults I think of the kids app with obby jump challenges and the oof sound. Mixing together vulnerable children with adults looking for sexual/romantic relationships will surely go well.

Yeah, I don’t see that happening. It’s clear that they want to move past Roblox being a platform for kids, but I feel that stigma is going to hang around for a while. Besides the obvious fact that adding an adult dating space to a platform primarily used by children sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Maybe they’re creating a space for all the kids who grew up on roblox to move into adulthood? Kinda like the adult happy meal.

More like he wants to find a way to monetize something that, however much parents may want to avoid thinking about it, inevitably happens. Something he definitely knows there is interest around, given how much effort they have to put to stamp down user-created sexual content.

The Roblox game exists since 2006, the game itself is already 17 years old. There’s a growing demographics of adults who grew up with Roblox, not to mention that expecting teenagers to be tame and uninterested is just wishful thinking. This is not a shocking delusion, it’s an uncomfortable fact of life.

Still, it seems unwise to tie that sort of thing to the same platform and brand.

Even after Roblox dropped the Metaverse label they are using, they still want to be Second Life with dedicated games attached.
