I mean, the NFTs worked pretty fucking well. Dude sold 45,000 of them for $99 a pop in under 24 hours. Obviously, they’re a blatant grift, and anybody who bought one is a blithering idiot, but they were incredibly successful regardless. Turns out, a whole lot of blithering idiots love him and can’t wait to give him their money for whatever useless bit of tat he deigns to throw at them.

As if to demonstrate the point, the gaudy monstrosity in that picture is already sold out, and they were listed at $399.

I can make 45,000 fake wallets and sell some NFTs to myself to make it look like there’s demand too.

This is the issue. Sure, we can laugh about all the ridiculous things Trump is grifting, but the fact of the matter is that they’re working. Even if they’re just money laundering schemes for foreign parties, as people seem convinced they are, they’re still selling out in hours, which is a huge win for Trump. And honestly, I know of several republicans who would gladly spend their entire paycheck on some random trump-related thing just to “own the libs.” I really think that most of these sales are legitimate, which is a very sobering window into how sad our country is right now.

Gold is tacky as fuck … Especially anything that isn’t classy jewelry or a watch. Even in those cases it can look extremely dated.

Same people that vote for Trump without feeling like a goober, I’d imagine.

Let’s not forget how popular Kanye “I loooooooove Hitlerrrrrr” West’s shoes continue to be - and most of them look like the product of a 3-way between nanna’s teach cosy, a Tesla, and an inflatable life raft.

Yeezy shoes continue to make profit for Adidas because they’re produced cheap enough, but that’s not the same as Yeezy being popular anymore. Data: https://legitcheck.app/stats/yeezy/

The last link you shared showed 3% market share, and revenue dropping from 1.3-1.7bn to 568m in 2023.

Adidas are far more than just shoes - looking at a “premium” partnership with a musician on sub-brand for one of many categories they’re present in isn’t a super-representative snapshot.

Casual sneakers or ankle-high boots made of brown pleather or a comfortably pliable leather that can go with a variety of outfits. Not those specifically, it’s just immensely difficult to find pics online these days. I’d go up to 150 for shoes that I can actually wear for a few years. Any tips on seeing material defects would be immensely helpful after an unexaggerated decade of short-lived shoes I’m too stubborn to let die.

It does not matter. It’s a way for people to mass purchase these and allow them to circumvent campaign contribution limitations.

Just buy 20 containers for resale and then let them rot in a warehouse while trump sells more to his MAGAts.
