As thousands of Twitter users reported problems attempting to access the social media site Saturday, Elon Musk tweeted he is limiting the daily number of tweets users can read.

Twitter responded to CNBC’s request for comment with its customary poop emoji.

I never would have believed there was an actual path to this being a factual sentence one year ago.

How can one person do so much damage to a company in such a short amount of time? It’s incredible.

I’d say the more incredible part is how Twitter is still going, and how people are still actively there, in spite of the rolling dumpster fire that’s been happening for literally months now.

In an update, he said rate limits would soon increase to 8,000 for verified users, 800 for unverified and 400 for new unverified. About three hours later, he tweeted those numbers were “Now to 10k, 1k & 0.5k.”

    Well that’ll fix everything!

I heard he didn’t renew the contract for Google server hosting and Twitter can’t handle the traffic now.

I’ve seen proof that embedded tweets have no concept of rate limiting, and are DDOSing twitter servers just by trying to load content.
