President Donald Trump on Thursday signed executive actions that delay for nearly one month tariffs on all products from Mexico and Canada that are covered by the USMCA free trade treaty, a significant walkback of the administration’s signature economic plan that has rattled markets, businesses and consumers.
The executive actions follow a discussion Trump held Thursday with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and negotiations between Canadian and Trump administration officials.
Keep refusing US products. Dont give an inch.
Fuck that, stay strong, keep our counter tariffs going. Donald will just keep changing his mind and pushing us around otherwise.
Completely agree. Both Trudeau and Ford have said they will keep going till all tariffs are removed, good on them. I say we do the same. Personally i’ll never go back to American products if I can help it.
Either that or no tariffs but non-tariff measures stay in effect until the decision is permanent.
@Shadow @breakfastmtn The uncertainty itself will wreak havoc. Either he doesnt know, doesnt care, or uses it in lieu of viagra
Too bad. I hope our leaders don’t fall for this game. We’ve begun, keep it up.
This shit fliflops every 5minutes, does anyone know of a site that just shows a big list of which tariffs are currently active?
The USMCA (former NAFTA) agreement is 1000’s of pages long, listing sections and individual items along with their taxation codes.
I found it once doing research and it is blindingly complex.
yeah but we don’t ned the whole NAFTA agreement, just what the lawyers have managed to write up in days. There’s this for Canada’s side which is long but still useful (i’d like it if someone could create a more simplified version that combines some of the more similar versions but hey), I’m looking for a version of the US side of things, which seems to be changing much more frequently.
