Checks out, everyone polite moved to Lemmy and Kbin. The few times I’ve gone back to reddit since coming over here have each reminded me just how vile that place is and I have no regrets leaving.
Hey, screw you pal!
throws chair
Just kidding.
unthrows chair
catches chair in mid flight
[audience applauds]
Looking forward to Reddit comment vs YouTube comment cage matches
@circuitfarmer @gk99 reddit to disable down votes wen!
No good mods doing the job either.
Its not like they have been communicating much in the last couple years
new reddit: It’s like 4chan and Digg had an abortion.
I don’t really like Destiny as a game, but the way Bungie has been handling their community is top notch. I love their low tolerance for bullshit. Other developers should be taking notes.
Creative Assembly’s Grace was good in the Total War subreddit. She join into jokes, but also put the foot down when needed. Although she already left by now.
However, just because we aren’t responding often doesn’t mean we aren’t still looking at feedback. As a legend once said, “we’re listening,” and while we can’t always act on the feedback, we do share it with stakeholders every single week. So please, keep it coming.
so they’re not responding, but they’re still listening to feedback? Isn’t listening the actual harmful part here? How does this help employees at all?
Saying “we’re not engaging at all” makes it clear that whether the feedback is positive, negative, seen, or not - a reaction will not be provided. This keeps the community managers from getting into the mud with the rest of the pigs and creates a bit of a barrier for audiences.
It may not seem logical but neither are the people sending death threats to game developers on Reddit. More of a psychological wall to create perceived space.
My friends and I were pissed when we tried to give the game another go after a few years, only to find they did their “vault” system. We all uninstalled real quick.
But were we pissed enough to make threats toward Bungie? No. The Reddit hivemind is pure poison now and I’m glad I left.
