Finland has been selected as the happiest country in the world several years in a row. Suffice to say we Finns aren’t too happy about that.

Lol. As a neighbor, I believe you. Grew up around a lot of Finns and all that grumpiness is just an act. You’re all cuddly inside but afraid to show it. Love you all.

        That’s contentedness, not happiness.

        And it’s reported contetedness.

So essentially the went around asking people how bad they have it. And it’s in Finnish culture never to complain.

And since we have good social security etc, people don’t end up homeless and can still eat.

So… “can’t complain”. And literally, can’t. I’ve tried. Several of the systems we have just ignore the flaws in them as the people they’re mostly for are poor people who have no influence. I was even abused in jail by the police and the guards. Didn’t give me my prescription meds. Watched me go manic three days in a cell, drawing on the walls with my own blood.

The officers who detained me, for weed, at my home, with a bullshit excuse to come in (and then they backdated the search warrant later) told me that I can take my prescription meds as long as they’re in the original packaging.

So my meds were even there.

But they watched me go crazy for 3 days, with no sleep, no food. Even shut off my water at one point.

So yeah, Finland isn’t perfect and we have a lot of mental health issues.

Definitely not “the happiest country in the world” despite the somewhat functional social security.

I believe Bhutan is generally considered to be the happiest nation, but I’ve never been there, so don’t quote me on that.
