You stated I was in the minority, which wasn’t true, and frankly, just because a few organizations believe it’s acceptable doesn’t speak for the entire medical community. Again, many medical professionals don’t agree. Are those medical professionals also the “6th-grade-reading-level Americans” you speak of?

You stated I was in the minority, which wasn’t true

And if the majority wanted you to jump off a cliff?

No, the only people whose opinions matter on this topic are the medical experts. Disagreeing with them puts you in the minority of Americans who refuse to trust doctors.

just because a few organizations believe it’s acceptable doesn’t speak for the entire medical community.

Correction: not just a few, literally all reputable medical organizations, including but not limited to:

American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

      American Academy of Dermatology

      American Academy of Pediatrics

      American Academy of Physician Assistants

      American Medical Association

      American Nurses Association

      American Association of Clinical Endocrinology

      American College Health Association

      American College of Nurse-Midwives

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists

      American College of Physicians

      American Counseling Association

      American Heart Association

      American Medical Student Association

      American Psychiatric Association

      American Psychological Association

      American Society of Plastic Surgeons

      American Society for Reproductive Medicine

      American Urological Association

      Endocrine Society

      Federation of Pediatric Organizations

GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality

The Journal of the American Medical Association

National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health

      National Association of Social Workers

      Ohio Children’s Hospital

      Pediatric Endocrine Society

Pediatrics (Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics ) and Seattle Children’s Hospital

      Texas Medical Association

      Texas Pediatric Society

Again, many medical professionals don’t agree. Are those medical professionals also the “6th-grade-reading-level Americans” you speak of?

Name one and I’ll tell you.

I don’t want to “win”, I want you to defend your argument to the best of your ability so that I can improve my own.

So, come on! Name one doctor that thinks its unsafe for trans kids to take puberty blockers. I’m not asking for much!

You’re just mad because they’re not accepting your excuse that the ignorant masses know best. We know for a fact that’s not the case for many things. People are fucking stupid, especially when it comes to issues that don’t directly affect themselves.

Issues like this should be decided by experts who have dedicated their lives to researching these exact things, and they recommend the exact opposite.

I’m not mad or upset at all. I could not care less. I don’t know anyone that are trans, especially any children that are. It doesn’t affect me, but I still have an opposing opinion, however ignorant that may be.

There was a short period of time in the 80’s when medical professionals believed you could contract HIV from someone by simply drinking after them. My point is that medical professionals can be wrong.

Little is known about the long-term side effects of hormone or puberty blockers in children with gender dysphoria.

Research on the long-term effects on brain development and cognitive function is limited.

Research on the long-term effects on fertility and sexual function is limited.

I’ll be completely honest. I’m on the fence about all of it, but I do take an issue with our children basically being the Guinea pigs. However, I’ll concede because as I said earlier, I really do not care enough.

Puberty blockers have been used to treat precocious puberty in cis kids since the '80s and gender dysphoria in trans kids since the '90s. Your “guinea pigs” argument is 45 years too late:

Give me a break on the guinea pigs shit. Folks have been using hormones to transition since the '50s. And a poster above linked to you a ton of good research on this.

Yet you still spread garbage like this under the veil of I don’t really care anyway… cool then see yourself out of the conversation and leave medical decisions to professionals and their patients.
